Hamilton FAQ
How can I get tickets?
Tickets will be available for purchase at the Overture Center Box Office beginning SAT, SEP 28, 2019 at 8 AM and online at Overture.org at 10 AM. Tickets will not be available by phone.
What time should I line up and what can I expect?
We anticipate a large number of patrons. If you are coming to the box office to purchase tickets, you will need to get in a line at the HENRY ST. entrance. You will be given a number when you enter the building. You must remain at Overture Center to guarantee your place in line. Only those with a number will be allowed to purchase tickets. Standing in line does not guarantee you will be able to purchase tickets for your preferred date and price level. You will move through the line to be bag checked by security, and then proceed into Overture Hall to wait until your number is called. For guests with accessibility needs, please find a staff member wearing a HAMILTON Madison t-shirt for assistance. All orders require a photo ID belonging to the purchaser. Tickets may be purchased by cash or credit card. If purchasing by credit card, you will need to present your photo ID and the name must match that on the credit card you are using. Tickets purchased with cash will be held at Will Call and available for pick up ninety minutes prior to your selected performance and may only be picked up by you with your photo ID. No alternate names for pick up will be accepted.
How many tickets can I purchase?
There is an 8-ticket limit per household. After all available tickets are sold, all purchases will be reviewed. Any and all purchases found violating the HAMILTON ticket policy will be cancelled without further consideration.
Will more tickets become available?
A limited number of seats may be made available for sale closer to and during the engagement. For updates, check overture.org regularly, follow us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, or sign up for our Overture email newsletter.
Can I get on a waitlist for tickets?
There is not a waitlist for HAMILTON. We encourage you to check back regularly for tickets that may be made available closer to and during the engagement.
How is it possible that there are tickets on secondary ticket sites and that they are so outrageously priced?
Overture.org is the official online ticket source for Overture Center tickets. We make every effort to sell directly to patrons so that our guests receive the best seats, at the best price, and receive the best customer service. We are dedicated to keeping tickets out of the hands of resellers by investing in technology that thwarts ticketing bots, by employing legal tactics to take down misleading websites that attempt to look official, by identifying and cancelling orders placed by brokers, and our ongoing efforts to educate the public to the dangers of purchasing from brokers and the secondary ticket market.
If you purchase tickets from a ticket broker or any third-party seller, Overture Center cannot guarantee that your tickets are valid, and you may be denied admission to the performance. In addition, we cannot reprint or replace your tickets if they are lost or stolen and we are unable to contact you with information regarding time changes or other pertinent updates regarding the performance. It is quite likely that you are paying excessive broker fees that are often double or triple the face value of the ticket.
Will there be a lottery for HAMILTON in Madison?
Yes. More details regarding the HAMILTON lottery will be provided closer to the engagement.
Will there be discounts for HAMILTON in Madison?
No discounts are available for HAMILTON.
If I get tickets and want to share my excitement on social media, is there anything I should avoid?
Each ticket has a one-of-a-kind barcode, and when you share your tickets along with your personal information online, your tickets can be compromised. You can still share your excitement online, just make sure to #CoverTheCode by covering the bar code and any other personal information on your ticket.
